Branding Taste: The RossOro Story
Ray de Bono discusses the creative thinking, design and development behind Rossoro Coffee’s new international website.

Q. What was the idea behind the Rossoro Coffee website?
A. We wanted a website that speaks coffee. Not just one that showcases coffee capsules, but one that captures the passion for coffee itself, its aromas, flavours, rituals and the pleasure of a good cup.
Coffee is a global language. It brings people together across cultures and continents. We wanted a concept that was both timeless and emblematic of a brand that is going places, with that universal appeal reflected in the design, photography and overall experience.
"Behind Rossoro is Vladex, a well established Dutch company with the experience and ambition to expand into new markets"
"We designed the portal for audiences across different continents, with content in five languages: English, French, Arabic, Italian and Spanish"

Q. How did you approach the brand itself?
A. Rossoro is a young brand competing alongside names that have been around for generations.
We wanted it to have its own personality, projecting confidence and sophistication without losing its freshness.
Behind Rossoro is Vladex, a well established Dutch company with the experience and ambition to expand into new markets.
Q. What makes the website distinctive?
Photography was central to our thinking. We wanted visitors to almost smell the coffee!
Our team at Dmax.tv and Raydebono.com worked on the imagery, presentation, content and overall browsing experience.
The result is a contemporary, smartphone-friendly website showcasing Rossoro’s Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules.
Q. And the international aspect?
A. That was essential. We designed the portal for audiences across different continents, with content in five languages: English, French, Arabic, Italian and Spanish.
The challenge was to make the brand feel equally relevant wherever visitors happen to be.

Q. What does this project mean to you?

A. It reflects how we approach design. We don't just build websites. We try to understand the business, the people behind it and what makes a brand special.
Technology matters, of course, but creativity, excellent photography, thoughtful content management and attention to detail bring the whole experience together.
